Ben took time to explain everything really thoroughly to us but also sent messages of encouragement between the sessions to keep us focused but also to let us know we weren't going through it alone.

The facilitator did an amazing job!!! He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the content. He showed lots of love, empathy and sympathy to each and every member of our group. He was always available for one on one sessions if need be after our group had concluded. I would absolutely recommend him for other sessions! He was a great inspiration to not only me, but to all our group members. A special thank you to Mr. David Kuntz for inviting me to this grief recovery group and for all your prayers, time and dedication. I'm grateful to have met you. I pray the group continues for years to come, so that it can be a blessing to others, like it was to me.

Initially I was skeptical about attending the program due to unsuccessful programs in the past. Rhys was able to convince me to give it a try. He was very knowledgeable of the program, he was professional, empathetic, enthusiastic and encouraging at the appropriate times. He would follow up between classes to assist with homework assignments. He was excited to be able to help the group participants reach closure or completeness of past emotions and losses.

This program has taught me, that people do not know how to handle grief. It has taught me how to be more sensitive, and to choose my words more care fully.

I came to the program because my son, Andrew died on 4 Nov 23. My daughter, Cassie died on 8 May 17. I was so overwhelmed with sadness and grief it was hard to function. My other daughter, Rachel is moving in July with her daughter, Caroline who was born the day before Cassie died to Arizona. Rachel and Caroline lived with us the first 5 years of Caroline's life and then in the same town for the last two years. I am devasted just thinking about Caroline moving away. I am not sure how I am going to make it without Caroline here. Before the program I thought about how my mom favored my sister all of my life. I was very hurt and felt unloved. Through the program I was able to remember great times I had with my mom. Now, I feel like a different person with my memories. I had been so hurt that it overshadowed all of the good times with my mom. I can now think of my mom, and the wonderful times I had with her! I would highly recommend this program!

Learning to speak through the tears and state what I feel vs stuffing it inside

Insightful ideas and discussions with my facilitator have helped me to learn to understand my reactions to my spouse’s death. By implementing some of the methods explained to me, I hope to do more healing from my loss and letting go of pain and hurt.

It has helped me to acknowledge and release my loss and the feelings that I had held onto following the breakdown of my birth family after the death of my mother.

The program has been a gift to me! I have worked really hard and I have always felt the support of Cassie and the group. Each week we had homework and each meeting was very intentional. I felt anxious on weekends and almost everyday before each meeting to feel relieved and lighter after . I feel I have a better understanding of what grief is and now I have tools and understanding to cope with it. I am very grateful and I have shared the benefits of it to other friends and colleagues. Please keep up the good job!

Nicole was kind, compassionate and extremely supportive. She was always firm with giving respect to others, as well as keeping our group in our safe circle. She shared her own personal journey and was extremely relatable. I feel like I have not only made a connection with her through this program, I feel she is a friend and would always be there if called upon. She has a gracious heart and leads with love.

Barb was very kind, respectful, and empathetic. She created a safe and welcoming space for everyone. She was always available if we had any questions or needed help.

Barb was amazing. I cannot thank her enough. She took all my stories with compassion and provided guidance in places where I was stuck. Barbs vulnerability of her own story also helped me be vulnerable with my group. She took my story with so much care in her hands. She is awesome. I appreciate the confidentiality aspects where she ensured that privacy was mandatory for each of us. I also liked her instructions on how and why we had to be honest with ourselves going into the program. My favourite thing about Barb is the light hearted jokes she would make to also show us that she too, just like everyone, has experienced loss.
