Testimonials For Support Groups
Assignments had me deal verbally with my feelings to a trusted non-judgmental person. I gained knowledge how how to be a better listener for others. Worked through some difficult feelings I would have not other wise.

This program was great! Very eye opening. I now feel better equipped to listen and support friends and family that nah be experiencing or grieving a loss. I now understand grief on a deeper level, I understand the way we shut it down and why, and I understand the things we may do to help us feel better during difficult times. I feel like I will be a better friend and parent going forward, and a better support to myself.

I will be forthright in saying I didn't agree with everything stated in the book (hence the 4/5), but in terms of the overall concept and the Recovery Methods simple, yet valuable wisdom: 5/5. I think everyone should hear about this!

It helped me view Alzsheimer's as a source of grief and gave me some new perspectives on how to deal with it.

The program has been very significant to me because in addition to recovery from the lost relationship, i have learned how to help others to recover from their losses.

I don't have any family close by. Between my sister in Florida and Louanne, they are my family and support system. Sometimes just having her to talk to and for listening, accepting and helping through all of the emotions.

I used Grief Recovery to process my divorce after 25 years of marriage, 3 children, and 2 business. I learned a lot about grief, myself, and healing. Thank you.

I believe the completion process is an important one. In my culture, we don't really grieve; we just continue on with life. I felt complete in my mind before the program, but the program allowed me to go deeper and find completion with certain emotions from the past about my father. I found value in the timeline and looking at the good and not so good memories, and then using the completion letter to apologize or forgive. I think it's good that I went through this process, vs just continuing on with life. I can't though say that I feel different after the process than before because I didn't feel bad about his transition before hand. What I do really appreciate is that I now have a process I can use with other forms of loss in my life, and that's where I think the benefits will be most deeply felt. I never thought of grief recovery as being so broadly applicable, so this was a big insight that will help me address and move through situations vs stuffing them away, so thank you so so much.

I began the program with the most difficult and darkest days of my life. While working through the loss of my daughter, I was able to process grief and other emotions that I pushed to the back of my mind (and in some cases, heart). This program was better than any therapy session, and should be included in Pastoral Education overall.

Because I participated in this program as part of a larger, CPE Unit, it was one of many foci. I would like to participate in The Grief Recovery Method at a time when it could be my main focus of study.

I am feeling more confident that I am releasing the grief pain I’ve had and I’m not crying as much. I’m feeling more content with my new life without my spouse. I have been able to forgive myself and let go of past regrets.

I think the incomplete relationship with my father has deeply affected my whole life and my current relationships and choices. I needed to let all of that go before I could affect real and lasting change in my life and relationships. Through the Grief Recovery Method, I have realized some uncomfortable truths about my relationships and myself which need to be addressed. This program has given me the tools to do the hard work while giving myself grace. I am applying everything I have learned to all my greatest relationships.

I thought the program was outstanding. When I try to select that, is selects all of them and I can't deselect the other ones. I appreciate how this helped me with my personal life and my professional nursing career. I have a new toolbox to help myself, my friends/family and my patients.

I look at loss more broadly. I learned about my feelings that I have always kept tucked away. The graphs I completed and the apology/forgiveness/strong emotional statement was very powerful for me.

Helped me work on the death of my mom, but also focus on areas I had previously considered loses that I was grieving. Helped me with the anger, hurt, fear and concern about my dad, our relationship, how he is dealing with my moms death and how we move forward

I must say, being a Pastor, I was a little concerned about how I would be perceived however I must say it was a very rewarding and enjoyable experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
