The Grief Recovery Method, with the help of my facilitator Megan, was exactly what I needed to help me complete my difficult relationship with my father. I struggled for 29 years with this emotional burden, and now I cannot believe the progress I have made - not only in my relationship but as a person who now understands that I was not broken, but grieving. This program is wonderful.

The program not only allowed me to let go of regrets I was holding about my 43 year marriage and my husband but gave me deep insights about issues with my mother that had affected my whole life and that years of therapy had not resolved. The person who recommended this program to me would say little up front except that it would be life-altering and it truly has been that. I'm in a much better frame of mind to move forward with whatever my life will be after losing my husband.

I read every bio on the website and decided to reach out to Sara because she had experienced a similar loss to my loss as a child. I am in awe of all this program has to offer. I feel as though I made more progress in my seven week grief recovery program than I did in a year of psycho-therapy. I was given the tools to deal with all my losses, and I am looking forward to continuing to heal and find the joy and blessings in my life. I am beyond grateful.

The Grief Recovery Method has started me unlearning the ways that I was raised dealing with loss. All the carefully thought-out steps helped me with my outlook on what's considered a loss, & to allow myself to feel the pain without judgment. I joined this program after my husband asked for a divorce. But, as I progressed through the classes I learned there were other losses that I never properly grieved nor healed from. It left me feeling refreshed, hopeful, & ready to move on to using these methods regarding my divorce, & other relationships.

My sister, who had been my closest friend, had a mental breakdown and became incapacitated with addiction and mental illness, and has remained so for years. It had never occurred to me that my experiences of deep sadness, feeling numb, and continually being distracted, might be caused by grief. She wasn't dead. But my grief was the grief of an incomplete relationship and an emotionally devastating loss of trust. Completing this loss through the Grief Recovery Program has given me freedom in my heart, and mind, to find joy in my days and be fully present with my family, friends and work. I feel more courageous and clear-headed in my daily life. Everyone who.is suffering loss could benefit from this guided grief recovery program.

The program has really helped me. I can't imagine where I'd be right now if I hadn't stumbled across it. It's hard to describe but I can now just experience the sadness of not having my brother here anymore. I can think about a fun memory and not have it spiral into extreme pain & anger. I am no longer limited to reliving the year of cancer and family drama that preceded my, far-too-young-to-die, brother's death. Completing emotions really does work. Thank you.

I have been in therapy for 9+ years. For 8 of those years I have carried a loss that I could not overcome. A friend of mine told me about grief recovery and so I said I'd give it a try. Grief recovery has widen my perspective on grief. It helped me to remember things and to pull things out of me that I wanted to keep hidden. Andrea created a safe environment for me to be vulnerable and express my true feeling, whether we were laughing or crying. I love the resources of this program and the tips Andrea gave me to manage grief I will experience in the future. It feels like a weight has been lifted to finally overcome my loss. I am so glad I am at peace.

The program has helped me separate the grief from the disbelief of all the deaths that occurred in a short time. It gave me the opportunity to say the things I wanted to say and clear any guilt, regret, and resentment.

I went into this program feeling like I needed to deal with some losses, but not sure where to begin. After meeting with my facilitator, I chose my divorce as the loss to resolve first. Throughout the process, I discovered other feelings I had that qualified as losses that I would like to work on. I think the GRM has given me the tools to do this. I thought the Loss History Graph was especially helpful (and surprising) in identifying losses throughout my life. I do know I will be completing several more Relationship Graphs and Completion Letters in the future. A couple things I mentioned to my facilitator: 1. I would like to complete a relationship graph on myself, to help identify the events in my life that have shaped who I am and want to be. She confirmed I can do this. 2. I wish this was a required college course. Even if you don't feel like you've suffered a significant loss, I think everyone could benefit from the coping techniques learned during this method. I've recommended the book to my grown children.

It has helped me become more aware of my self talk- and how I am relating to people a round me. Remembering that grief isn't just about death or divorce- How a person is raised dictates what they become, and how they see themselves. however, You can change this self talk ...and try to remember no blame, don't complain... To be more open.

This course was a blessing and a wonderful gift for me. I was honestly a little skeptical at first and there was definitely some discomfort involved in going so deep, but the benefits were so worth it. Karen was so instrumental in guiding me to realize some deep-seated emotions that I have been carrying around since childhood. The learning process went way beyond the initial loss of my sister. Karen was so wonderful to work with – kind and compassionate, candidly sharing her own journey through this process. I always felt so encouraged by her warm and caring nature. What I truly appreciated was that beyond a traditional therapy of just talking and talking and talking things out, this process provided actual tools for dealing with grief and loss. And these tools can be applied to other losses in life. I very much appreciated learning this process and would highly recommend Karen to everyone.
