I was formerly an educator in the public school system for 42 years and an idependent counselor for over 20 years.I lost my brother, mother and husband in the short span of a year and a half time frame. My husband's sudden death threw me in to a deep depression where I isolated mysef for four and a half years.I'd tried all the programs suggested for grievers soon finding out they were all dealing with the "why" on an intellectual or faith based approach which,at the time, was not helping me help myself. I stumbled on to the Grief Recovery Method quite by accident and with a great deal of apprehension that this was once again a "one size fits all" approach but was at such a low point and dark place that I was willing to try anything, It gave me a step by step approach to recognizing and completing my pain in more than one relationship.I was most impressed with the fact that after focusing on my husband I was finally able to tap in to the loving memories of 47 years of marriage as opposed to being plagued with the ongoing image of his death as he coded in front of me.I knew I was being called to share this approach with others and was certified in the Grief Recovery Method in September of 2019 and completed the online certification as an Advanced Grief Recovery Specialist. At the present time I have done Grief Recovery Method one to one, Grief Recovery Method groups, Dealing With Pet Loss one to one and one to one online through the Grief Recovery Method.I am also certified in Helping Children With Loss groups and one to ones. Grief following any loss is essential to address and this program, while structured, deals individually with each person's unique situation. I am honored and humbled to be able to share it with others and be instrumental in helping them on their journey through their pain.
