When I came to this program I did not know what to expect. What I knew was that I was experiencing grief, and I was seeking what sounded like a healthier way of processing my feelings. From the handbook and my Facilitator, I learned that my way of thinking around grief and processing loss was on the right track, but was also just surface movement through occurrences. I am someone that does not have a problem acknowledging my feelings. In fact, they sometimes dictate how I'm able to move through the day (i.e. if there's something I need to deal with or sit with, it takes precedence). With the content and homework through this program, it helped me to hone in on finding the root cause and possible connectivity of issues, as well as equipping me to be present for my friends when they are experiencing grief/loss. I am now more cognizant and situationally aware of how we intellectualize grief, which causes me to be more of a listening ear instead of always offering words.

Nina has taught me many things from her grief recovery class. I didn't realize how much I really needed the skills and tools she gave me. There is so much more to grief than what I previously thought. I'm thankful for her thoughtful guidance to navigate this process, so I can finally heal.

This program was truly life changing. I had been holding onto childhood wounds for decades which I did not recognize until working through The Grief Recovery Method®. I learned about so many myths surrounding grief like "time heals all wounds". These myths had kept me thinking my issues had nothing to do with the grief of growing up as a child of an alcoholic. I thought that simply moving forward in life with the determination to do better for my own family would be enough. Yet, decades later, I kept having this nagging feeling that something deep inside me needed to be expressed. I didn't realize how the grief work would bring out so many emotions that needed a voice. The Grief Recovery Method® helped me to see how patterns from my childhood had repeated themselves in different ways in my adult years. The end result of this work has left me feeling quite a bit lighter and brighter. The heaviness of emotions unspoken and unrealized have finally been able to flow through me. As a result, my current day relationships have shifted in profound and subtle ways.. all for the better! I also want to mention how I love the format of meeting once a week. It allowed me time to contemplate and consider each step in the process. Not rushing allowed for those little ah-ha's to make their appearances. It gave me time to consider so many aspects of the difficult relationships of my childhood from a different perspective. I highly recommend this program for anyone looking to do "the work" that everyone always talks about. You want to improve your life? You gotta do "the work".

The program unravelled as expected in your experience! I came to it from a place of loss and hurt from a relationship and ended up dealing with foundational wounds. I will be completing relationship graphs for a number of people and I have also identified a graph for my relationship with my temper. This is a revelation regarding coaching and NLP/CBT (which is my background) I now doubt I will be able to hear a client without recognising unresolved grief. Wonderful affirming information and insights. Thank you!

Gave me more of an understanding of how to deal with loss and how to say Goodbye and let losses go. I did not realize that if you don't deal with losses correctly there can be a lot of bad consequences that build up in a person and changes how we live and treat other people. I would recommend Janine Brisebois to anyone who needs help to deal with their loss. Beautiful Lady and so easy to talk to. Thank you Deannia Rioch

Lesleigh was exactly who I needed to walk me through my grief recovery process. I was stuck and couldn’t make progress with my grief. I feel emotionally lighter and less stressed. I felt supported and nurtured throughout the process. I am forever grateful to my friend who recommended her.

The Grief Recovery Method taught me more about grief and the many ways it shows up. It helped me move beyond avoidance strategies that were not helpful. I felt stuck when I started, and I feel lighter now that I've completed my sessions. I focused on the death of a parent, and there are other losses I may work through in the future. I would advise anyone who is drawn to this work to explore it. It's okay if you have not recently experienced a death or feel like you "should be over" whatever you're grieving. It's okay to ask for support and there are lots of resources and great people in the GRM community to help you.

This far exceeded my expectations. I've had lifelong anxiety and depression as did my parents. I did not really realized until Brent helped me understand how those formative years have shaped some very bad thinking and lots of anxiety. I really needed to revisit that whole time with my dad and forgive him for his terrible anxiety leaving me to often be by myself (only child) hiding out avoiding everything. I am so glad to have finally moved on from feeling like the little kid in the corner cowering in fear.
