The Grief Recovery Program was definitely a benefit to me. On my own, I really wasn't sure how to manage my own grief recovery after my husband of 53 years died very suddenly. I needed guidance and the Recovery Method provided that step by step structure for me. The program helped me to find peace within myself and the strength to go forward with my life.

I would give the training and facilitator 5 stars, I give myself 4 as I am holding sorrow that I am apparently unable to let go of yet, this class has given me the tools to work towards that when I am ready.

I cannot sing the praises of this program enough. I have already utilized some of the listening techniques we were taught with good results. I appreciate that there was no "sugar coating" of the difficulties some of the class may have working through the program. It was an enlightening experience and I will be continuing the journey through my grief to completion.

I was already a year into the loss of my husband. The program helped me to further say goodbye to him. I already felt that I was doing okay. I was doing some reading. I was uncluttering my home and was ready to become the person that I was meant to be without a spouse.

After my son passed away, it was very difficult to talk about Bryon without breaking down. I was so angry with life & God for putting me on this unwanted path that I was forced on to. After doing the work, & talking about the process, I am now able to talk to people about my son Bryon without going into the ugly cry. I still cry at times, but not to the extent I was before the class. I would recommend this class to anyone that is drowning in grief, so that they are able to recover as I did. I still miss my son very much, I always will, I'm no longer crippled with my grief. Thank you.

While it was a significant loss that brought me to the program, I continue to use what I learned in this support class/group as new losses come along. It has also helped me so much more understanding of others as they experience loss.

Assignments had me deal verbally with my feelings to a trusted non-judgmental person. I gained knowledge how how to be a better listener for others. Worked through some difficult feelings I would have not other wise.

This program was great! Very eye opening. I now feel better equipped to listen and support friends and family that nah be experiencing or grieving a loss. I now understand grief on a deeper level, I understand the way we shut it down and why, and I understand the things we may do to help us feel better during difficult times. I feel like I will be a better friend and parent going forward, and a better support to myself.

I will be forthright in saying I didn't agree with everything stated in the book (hence the 4/5), but in terms of the overall concept and the Recovery Methods simple, yet valuable wisdom: 5/5. I think everyone should hear about this!

I was able to accept how I felt after his death.

I began the program with the most difficult and darkest days of my life. While working through the loss of my daughter, I was able to process grief and other emotions that I pushed to the back of my mind (and in some cases, heart). This program was better than any therapy session, and should be included in Pastoral Education overall.

Because I participated in this program as part of a larger, CPE Unit, it was one of many foci. I would like to participate in The Grief Recovery Method at a time when it could be my main focus of study.

It helped me view Alzsheimer's as a source of grief and gave me some new perspectives on how to deal with it.

The program has been very significant to me because in addition to recovery from the lost relationship, i have learned how to help others to recover from their losses.

I don't have any family close by. Between my sister in Florida and Louanne, they are my family and support system. Sometimes just having her to talk to and for listening, accepting and helping through all of the emotions.

I used Grief Recovery to process my divorce after 25 years of marriage, 3 children, and 2 business. I learned a lot about grief, myself, and healing. Thank you.

I believe the completion process is an important one. In my culture, we don't really grieve; we just continue on with life. I felt complete in my mind before the program, but the program allowed me to go deeper and find completion with certain emotions from the past about my father. I found value in the timeline and looking at the good and not so good memories, and then using the completion letter to apologize or forgive. I think it's good that I went through this process, vs just continuing on with life. I can't though say that I feel different after the process than before because I didn't feel bad about his transition before hand. What I do really appreciate is that I now have a process I can use with other forms of loss in my life, and that's where I think the benefits will be most deeply felt. I never thought of grief recovery as being so broadly applicable, so this was a big insight that will help me address and move through situations vs stuffing them away, so thank you so so much.

I am feeling more confident that I am releasing the grief pain I’ve had and I’m not crying as much. I’m feeling more content with my new life without my spouse. I have been able to forgive myself and let go of past regrets.
