Hi I'm Judy and I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a particular interest in grief work. I've counseled individuals across the lifespan: children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety, depression, marital, family and relationship challenges, as well as those struggling with substance abuse. A few years ago, I lost several family members and dear friends over a period of a few months. When our 14 year old golden retriever died a few weeks later, I felt overwhelmed by feelings of sadness and loss. I began to learn all that I could about the grief process and discovered that our culture has not done a very good job in preparing us for the inevitable: the death of a loved one. I wanted to change what I could by helping others who were having similar experiences. While I retired from counseling a few years ago, it is my privilege to serve our community as a Grief Recovery Method Specialist. My husband and I have two married sons, 5 grandchildren (one deceased), and an exuberant 3 year old golden retriever named Tess.
