Reita Melvin has dedicated her life to serving others. She earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh, and has been a licensed social worker with the Baldwin Whitehall School District since 2006. Previously, she worked as a medical social worker and directed a family enhancement program.
No stranger to grief herself, she became involved with the Grief Recovery Institute and became a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist® in 2014 to help others process and heal from their grief and personal losses.
She has been married for 45 years, is the mother of three grown children, and is an adoring grandmother. In addition to her professional interests and her devotion to her close-knit family, she enjoys baking, reading, and fishing.
Her unique talents and education, in conjunction with her own losses, have prepared her to be a compassionate and caring facilitator to help others through the Grief Recovery process.
If you, or someone you know, is struggling with emotional challenges, grief or loss, she wants to help.
Reita utilizes the Grief Recovery modes of Group, One-on-One, and Helping Children with Loss.
