Hello I’m Chris McIndoe. I am an Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist, based in the North West of England.
My professional life has centred around providing high quality holistic care. During the 20 years of my nursing career I have cared for and supported both patients and families, often through the most difficult times in their lives. In 2015 I made the transition into the funeral industry, which enabled me to continue this supporting role and work with grieving families, often in crisis situations. Through this work I was introduced to the Grief Recovery Method and was inspired. Working as a Grief Recovery Method Specialist consolidates my professional and personal experiences with loss from a very young age. This means that I am well placed to help others on their Grief Recovery journey in a sensitive, confidential and non-judgemental way. I have had the privilege of working with a wide variety of clients, dealing with grief caused by bereavement, divorce and many of the 40 + causes of grief.
I offer Grief Recovery Method sessions both in person and online, for 1-1 sessions as well as in-person groups for up to 8 people. I am also available for public speaking events and open to other enquiries.
If you are currently dealing with loss of any kind and feel ready to let go of the pain that it is causing, please feel free to contact me and we can take the first steps together.
What people say:
"Chris recently guided me through the 7 week grief recovery method. Chris was always welcoming, listened intently and made me feel at ease from the very start. I recently suffered a trauma in my life and I decided to go through the programme with Chris, I can honestly say it was life changing 7 weeks and Chris was inspirational throughout guiding me along the way. Her professionalism and ability to make me feel relaxed were pivotal to the success of the programme. I’d thoroughly recommend it to anyone going through similar situations due to loss. The work in the programme is at times in-depth and emotional but with Chris there to assist me I was able to complete with ease and without fear of being judged." Nick, 1:1 in person, January 2024
"From our very first meeting, Chris created an atmosphere of a calm, controlled, safe space. A place that encouraged openness and honesty and most importantly, a strong feeling of trust. As we worked through the programme, I felt listened to and heard. Chris engendered a feeling of mutual respect that formed the basis of our sessions. This allowed me to explore some painful memories trusting that I was safe and looked after in that space. The programme was excellent but having the right person to work through the sessions with you is invaluable. Chris brings a lifetime of experience to this role, to have her work with me through this was my absolute privilege." Valerie, 1:1 in person, May 2022
"The Grief Recovery Method is an amazing approach to dealing with loss and grief, truly the only method that has helped me process my loss. Of course this was also made even better by Chris' gentle delivery, empathy and understanding - she made sure I understood the process fully and has set me up with tools for life to help me cope with grief and loss. I cannot recommend her highly enough." Libby, 1:1 online, January 2022
"A Simple honest life enhancing way of facing and solving some of life’s inevitable problems and situations. A private one to one way of achieving lasting changes and personal answers." Brian, 1:1 in person, February 2023
"I cannot express enough gratitude towards Chris for opening my eyes to these invaluable tools, allowing me to be a source of support for my children through times of grief. I feel that it is crucial for every parent and teacher to take part in this course. Thank you Chris so much for being patient, honest and understanding and helping us through each step of this course." Emma, Helping Children with Loss, January 2024
