I'm Pastor Steve Mapp, retired Minister of Pastoral Care and Discipleship at Winfree Memorial Baptist Church in Midlothian, Virginia. It is a true blessing to be a specialist in the Grief Recovery Method. I experienced the tremendous benefit of the program in dealing with the loss of my dad some 43 years ago. There was an incompleteness in my carrying this loss over these years and the Grief Recovery Method allowed me to come to full completeness. What a blessing in my life and in moving forward.
During my time on staff at Winfree I focused much of my time on grief, loss, and recovery. Recognizing the great need for support for those in grief I have, since my retirement, focused my time and energy on working with this wonderful, evidenced based program. It has become my primary focus. I have had the blessed privilege to work with many in groups and one on one. All agree, this program has been instrumental in giving hope and renewal. There are so many kinds of losses that trigger the grief experience and so often we get stuck in finding our way to a new and different and hopeful tomorrow. The Grief Recovery Method gives us greater understanding and the tools which allow us to move forward in our healing. I would welcome the opportunity to be a partner in your healing.

This program is for people who prefer to work one-on-one rather than in a group setting. The 7-session format utilizes the same proven materials as the group programs and can be completed in-person with a Grief Recovery Method Specialist specifically trained to help people move through loss with dignity and respect.
