I was born and raised in Pakistan and moved to Canada in 2002. With a Master's degree in General Psychology and an M.Phil in Applied Psychology, I've committed myself to supporting immigrant, newcomer, and refugee families who face violence since 2007.
My personal journey of grief began in 1995 with the sudden loss of my father. Like many, I never had the chance to express my gratitude or love to him before he passed, and that loss opened my eyes to the many blessings I often overlooked. Losing my mother, who was my strongest support, added to the weight of my sorrow.
Relocating to Canada also felt like a significant loss in its own right. Despite my choice to make it my new home, I found myself grappling with feelings of sadness and confusion. Recognizing that these conflicting emotions were part of my healing journey was a turning point for me, spurred by the insights I gained from the Grief Recovery Method.
Now, here in Edmonton, AB, I am deeply committed to offering support through grief groups, helping children navigate their losses, providing specific groups for pet loss, and conducting one-on-one sessions. I offer these services in a compassionate manner and in Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, and English, both online and in person.
I'm also a Counselling Therapist with The Association of Counselling Therapists of Alberta (ACTA).
