Hello! My name is Natalia Almeida-Cardoso. I am a grief recovery method specialist with The Grief Recovery Method Institute. Before I discovered The Grief Recovery Institute, my knowledge of grief rested on observing people wearing black clothes when there was a death of a relative, or a close friend. That was my cultural tradition of grief. I was born and raised in the Cape Verde Islands, a country on the West Coast of Africa.

I attended one of the 8-week group section with one the Grief Recovery Method Specialists, in Newport Rhode Island, as part of my college research education. This section not only changed my knowledge and perspective of grief, it alerted me to the misinformation I had about grief, and it gave me the tools to recover from my own grief with the death of my daughter, my dad, and my brother. I realized through this 8-week section how much my culture and my community need this new knowledge that grief is not just surrounding the death of a person, but any time there is a loss of anything dear to each individual.

My mission is to use the same tools I learned with The grief Recovery Method Program to help as many people as I can restore the capacity to live a happy life, and to regain hope, peace, and love after a loss of a loved one, loss of a pet, a divorce, etc. I offer 7-week in-person one on one section, and 8-week in-person group section.
