I have been a sober and active Member of AA since 2006. Working in recovery, I see quite a bit of loss. The loss that brought me to Grief Recovery Method in the first place was the death of my daughter, Ashley. I went through two years of therapy, and was largely unable to realize any peace with regards to her passing. I carried this burden for eight years before being introduced to GRM.
The GRM approach was unlike anything that I had tried previously. Today I am working toward being able to talk about her with love and joy without the crushing sadness and despair that, up until I worked the GRM program, was always present.
Before participating in GRM, I had very little confidence in the potential for any therapy or method to help me with my difficulty. The Grief Recovery Method workshop was life changing for me and I was compelled to become certified to lead others in this process in the Thousand Oaks area.
