My heart broke open when my identical twin sister died at age 24 in hospital with an inoperable brain tumor. I was angry at God. I dealt with my grief by staying busy. I became a real estate agent, then a broker, even opening my own real estate office by the time I was 30 years old. However, I knew I had to deal with my grief and my anger toward God. I disliked hospitals and avoided them at all costs as they meant death to me. I found a new church where I felt safe to explore my feelings. On my new spiritual journey, I awoke to an inner calling, one in which I could help others who were experiencing loss and death. I volunteered at my church in pastoral care and became an ordained minister. I had come full circle and became a Board Certified Clinical hospital Chaplain.
I worked as a Chaplain at Long Beach Memorial and Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach, California for 12 years. As part of my responsibilities, I facilitated adult bereavement groups for 7 years using the teachings of Dr. Kubler Ross and the traditional grief process. It was not until I recently retired and was facilitating a grief group at my local church when a participant asked if I knew about the Grief Recovery Method. I had not. I immediately purchased the book, and to my surprise, this method was quite different from my previous experience. I was filled with a new passion for “The Grief Recovery Method.”
The Grief Recovery Method is an active, evidence-based method that helps us unlock our emotional experiences of grief, heartache and loss. What does that mean? It means it works!
Please reach out to me so I can work with you to release the heaviness you have been carrying. And, please remember, this proven method deals with ALL types of losses: from Covid, death, relationships, life changes of all kinds. I offer both group and individual classes.
What you will learn:
1. To explore “old, ineffective tools and myths” we’ve been using to manage our grief.
2. To learn proper emotional tools to achieve recovery from unresolved grief.
3. To discover and complete any undelivered emotional communication to your loved ones.
