Thank you for clicking on my profile. I have been a clinical social worker for nearly 20 years. I started out my career working with persons struggling with serious mental illnesses and legal issues including incarceration/civil commitments. I later transitioned to the Veterans Administration providing assistance to Veterans. Working with Veterans was always deeply personal as I grew up in a military home and also married a Veteran. In 2022, I moved to Knoxville to be closer to family and help care for my mother who has Alzheimer's Disease.
Grief and loss was an early experience for me as I lost my mother and sister in a car accident at age three. It wasn't until I lost my husband in 2018 that I began to see how all the losses in my life were having an impact on my self-confidence and mental health.
I came across the Grief Recovery Method as I was preparing to open my own private therapy business and purchased their handbook for Pet Loss. As a pet parent and animal lover, I was thrilled to see that someone else understood how painful the loss of a pet can be. It was then that I started to see how useful this information is and how much it can help people heal from any loss. I believe every person experiencing pain related to a loss can benefit from the Grief Recovery Method.
