As an educator and clinician, there was a need to support staff and individuals on my caseload in the area of grief and loss. I was selected to attend the Grief Recovery Method (GRM) Training to become a Specialist. Not knowing much about the GRM before attending the multiple day training, I was initially hesitant and somewhat skeptical. However, as I allowed myself to be open to the GRM and put in the work, I was amazed by the effectiveness of the process and its ability to help me deal with years of grief and loss I didn't even know I was carrying or had continued to let affect my life and significant choices. Honestly, it was as if a weight had been lifted and I was able to improve not only my overall perspective on life but have a more positive relationship with my family and friends. It gave me a skill set to address grief and loss moving forward. As a GRM Specialist, I want to facilitate and support others to have this same skill set and process to address grief and loss in their lives.
