Upon graduation from St. Thomas University with the notion I will be changing the world only to come to find out otherwise. My first experience with loss was during my placement at a Crisis Center within a first nations community where suicide was prevalent. This then lead me to Child Protection within my own community of Metepenagiag.
As a Child Protection social worker I experienced families grieve due to children being removed for their safety was an experience of loss I worked in for 15 years.
Currently I am working in programs for prevention and my training in Grief Recovery Method would enhance this experience and I am grateful to have been able to complete two training sessions.
My goal is to provide an avenue for grievers to heal their broken hearts and since I had the opportunity to complete this program I am confident this program is effective. On a side note this program is similar to practices first nations people utilized and am comfortable with the program.
I enjoy the group process for Grief Recovery but understand all people are not comfortable in such a setting and am able to provide one on one programs.
Currently I am residing near Miramichi in my community of Metepenagiag First Nation where I have been raised. I look forward in working with anyone who is suffering from a loss either in group or individual basis.
With Appreciation
