Hello and welcome ~
Allow me to share a part of my grief story with you.
I am the youngest of five siblings. Years ago, my mom had a baby boy who died soon after his birth. She only knew that he had blonde hair and blue eyes. Family and friends offered well-meaning words of sympathy such as, “you can have another baby”, “he’s in God’s hands”, or “you have 3 young children at home”. These words are often meant to be comforting.
In 2010, after an emotional year of battling cancer, my mom passed away at home surrounded by loved ones. Nothing could have prepared me for the pain and sorrow I experienced, not even my training as a counselor. A few years later, my older brother died unexpectedly. My heart hurt even more and people would tell me, "just give it time" or “time heals all wounds.” I found that time was not the answer to my broken heart.
I sought counseling for my own grief and found the GRM program, which was both educational and transformational! I learned about common myths and beliefs, which are really pieces of mis-information about dealing with loss. The action steps along with the new information was amazing, and allowed me to feel a sense of renewal and recovery.
As an Advanced Grief Recovery Specialist I currently offer:
+ One-on-One, Grief Recovery Method, 7-session online format. We meet virtually from the comfort of your home or office.
