I am a retired US Navy Submarine Officer currently living in Salt Lake City, Utah. Over the last 20+ years I have lived in over a dozen locations both inside and outside of the United States. I was introduced to the Grief Recovery Method (GRM) after the death of my father and 19-year old nephew. Though my relationship with my father was generally quite good, the GRM helped bring much greater clarity and depth to my relationship with my late father.
I chose to become involved in grief recovery after observing the deep impact that grief has had on loved ones. Additionally, during my Navy career I witnessed the deep and lasting impacts that a military career often has on both families and service members due to deployments, frequent moves, divorces, even suicide within the military community.
It is my belief that unresolved grief is at the root of much of the human suffering present in our divided world today. Not only does this result in decreased quality of life, it also contributes to destructive and maladaptive personal behavior which furthers human suffering. The GRM can help end the cycle and bring hope to a life devoid of hope.
I am a Certified Advanced Grief Recovery Specialist® who leads the Grief Recovery Method in both group and one-on-one settings. My preference is to offer the Grief Recovery Method online in a 1-on-1 format. I also offer the wonderful Helping Children With Loss program.
Client Testimonial:
Jon is calm, clear, patient, welcoming and compassionate with my grief. He creates a space where I felt the strength to cry and face the truth of my loss. His openness and examples from his own life make the group feel safe. He was responsive and helpful when I got stuck or confused. Finally expressing myself and coming to completion I feel lighter and ready to enter a new chapter of my life. I recommend Jon as a Grief Recovery Specialist with my whole, big, broken, healing heart.
Thank you
