I finally decided to take the Grief Recovery Method because I have run “Grief and Loss” groups for years and I wanted to sharpen my skills so I could have an evidenced-based methodology. Going through the method showed me I had some unresolved grief and gave me better tools not only to help myself but to help my clients. Grief is found in the midst of addiction, trauma, depression, isolation and an array of other things that can be debilitating to our lifestyles. In many of my client’s cases, facing and dealing with your grief helped their other issues.
I am a person who will have 28 years of recovery from addiction in September 2020 and my career paths have been helping others as an addiction counselor and a clinical trauma specialist for the past 19 years. The majority of my clients had unresolved grief in their lives; most have masked it with alcohol, drugs and destructive behaviors. The Grief Recovery Method was embraced by clients I worked with who were incarcerated and in turn, it helped them gain confidence in their recovery management for substance abuse.
I have credentials for addiction counseling (CADAC II), Medicated Assisted Treatment Specialist (MATS), Advanced Grief Recovery Specialist (AGRMS), Clinical Trauma Specialist-Addiction (CCTSA) and I am an Advanced Life Coach (ALC).
My desire is to help others realize there is hope to regain their happiness and they can recover. I live in Indianapolis, IN and I am so excited to be able to help people INVEST in their recovery from loss, both in person and online!!
