Have you found that grieving a loss steals your ability to focus & zaps your energy? Ignoring, pushing away and staying busy to distract yourself from the feelings that come along with the loss may not be helping you feel better. Over time you may have noticed your anxiousness, need for sleep, hygiene, and interest in social activities has declined. These are all signs that indicate you are bleeding out the emotional pains of loss.
I too have experienced loss. I too have used many different tactics to make the loss not hurt so bad. What I have found is that many of my tactics have really caused me greater harm and hurt. Utilizing the Grief Recovery Method (GRM) model for myself showed me that there are other ways/ healthier ways to help me feel better following a loss. It taught me how to complete what I had not know was left undone. It helped normalize my experiences which, lessened the shame, hurt and loneliness I had been experiencing and provided me tools to help experience more completion around my losses. Experiencing my own life transform and how I navigate loss has encouraged and propelled me to come along side others who are hurting and support them in finding hope and healing.
All of this said, I want to help you to move through your loss and grief. To share with you, tools that help the loss vs. placate it. We all have the ability to make change for ourselves. It's my goal to equip you with awareness, deeper understanding and tools to move through the loss.
