I specialize in anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, suicidal ideation, and racial trauma. I believe that people are the experts of their own lives and thrive when space and support are offered along the way. I have been an educator for over 17 years supporting difficulties with life transitions.
My personal style entails an empathetic and non-judgmental approach. Within the therapeutic relationships that I establish, I help clients explore personal and academic issues with compassion, curiosity, and when applicable, lightness and humour.
As a Black therapist, I believe racial trauma, anxiety, and depression are symptoms of systemic structures and Eurocentric norms that leave some people as benefactors and others harmed. With an anti-racist lens, I support clients along their healing journey by naming, addressing, and validating their experiences through an anti-oppressive approach.
In addition, I am a certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist with the Grief Recovery Institute. What that means, is that I facilitate the Grief Recovery Method program virtually to help individuals process the universal experiences of loss (i.e. death, divorce, health, identity, etc)
