I had low expectations that this program would benefit me but after five years of experiencing the waves of grief, I was willing to give this a try. It was extremely difficult and at times I couldn’t see how this was going to work. But I persevered, put in the work and tears, and in the end, I finally feel that I am on the other side of grief. I feel a huge relief and a great burden taken from me. I have a wonderful peace now and can look back at my son‘s life and remember the happiness. I have said goodbye to the negative thoughts and do not feel the need to revisit them. I am thankful for the program and Denise for leading me through this recovery. She suggested that I might also like to take the course and become a grief counselor and I am seriously considering doing just that.

I just finished last week so the program is still working for me. I look at things differently now. I do think of my Husband of 50 yrs with a different outlook. We had a good marriage, and the loss has thrown me for a loop. I thought I was ready to endure this loss far more than I was, Thanks to Denise and her patience with me, I did get over a couple of hurdles and still working on more. I don't think her and I are finished .

The program has helped me in the following ways: It has helped me to understand that most people cannot express or know how to console people who are grieving. It has helped me to take a walk through my life and actually focus on my grief/loss which are emotional i have always pushed deep down inside me in order to move on.Now i have learnt to deal with the emotions and know that it is healthy. I learned that it is okay to take your time to deal with the loss. There is no real time limit to get over your loss.

The Grief Recovery Method has helped me to look at my grief over the terrible loss I've had and see ways to work through it. It even helped me to remember memories that I treasure with this beloved person, and it gave me the opportunity to share my feelings and concerns with the one that I lost by reading a letter to her and picturing she was sitting there listening to me. It's been very hard "heart work," but the program has helped to minimize the overwhelming power that grief has had on my thoughts and daily activities. Thanks to the program, I now have new tactics to use to help with this grief process, and even to use for future grief problems that I probably will face. I also want to add that Denise DeMarco has been an amazing grief counselor to me. Not only is she super supportive and caring during our sessions, but she has also reached out to me and listened to my concerns all throughout the many weeks, which has tremendously helped me. She deserves 5 stars for her incredible teaching skills and her ability to really connect with the people she helps. She has such a kind heart, and I am very fortunate to have been able to share all of my troubles during my grief with her. Thank you so much, Denise, for everything.
