Cleo Santiago is a compassionate and empathetic Grief Recovery Method Specialist dedicated to helping individuals navigate the challenging, complex grief process. With his specialized training from the Grief Recovery Institute, Cleo is equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to help his grievers move beyond the emotional pain caused by loss of any kind.
Cleo is passionate about educating grievers. In June 1999, Cleo's mother was tragically hit by a motor vehicle that was near fatal. As a result of the impact of the car, Cleo's mother suffered a brain injury causing brain damage of 15%, according to the medical team at the time. Cleo's journey through his grief has ignited Cleo's desire to companion grievers through the wilderness of grief.
Cleo Santiago is a Board-Certified Clinical Chaplain, and Pastoral Counselor involved in Hospice Care and Corrections. He has completed his Clinical Training at Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center with the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy.
Cleo Santiago is an ordained Pastor with the Lutheran Orthodox Church NY-NJ. He has been active in empowering communities since 2004. He continues to partner with local community leaders, helping community members recover from loss, pain, and addiction. He has integrated his life experience with his Clinical Training in the care and education of the community.
Cleo provides GRM in the Hudson, Passaic, Union & Essex County areas of New Jersey. He provides the Grief Recovery Method one-on-one as well as in groups. He is additionally certified to conduct the GRM Pet Loss module as well as "Helping Children with Loss." Cleo also points out that although he is a Pastor/Chaplain, Cleo is very eager to share that the Grief Recovery Method program is NOT a religious or faith-based method and is effective for individuals from all backgrounds, worldviews, and histories.
