Hi - I'm Cheryl Hogg and I live in Danville, Virginia. I became a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist in 2000 through certification training in Columbus, Ohio with John W. James. In January, 2017 I returned to Columbus to refresh and sharpen my skill set!

I have served as a Stephen Minister as well as a Stephen Leader, a Facilitator and have held administrative roles primarily at private schools and churches. Most recently I was an Advocate for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.  In this role I accompanied victims to court proceedings and law enforcement interviews, provided daily emotional support for residents of the shelter and facilitated weekly support groups.

I became involved with Grief Recovery several years after experiencing the loss of relationships within my family. At that point in my life I was broken hearted, emotionally stuck and I didn't know what to do or how to move on. Finding Grief Recovery was literally life changing for me.  It  gave me the tools I needed which allowed me to move forward, healing my heart in the process.  

I provide both group and one-on-one Grief Recovery Support Group programs as well as the six session program "When Children Grieve" in the Danville, Virginia area, which is accessible from Martinsville, Virginia as well as Eden and Reidsville, NC.
