Hello and welcome to the Grief Recovery Method and my Specialist profile! My name is Barbara Collier. I came to the Atlanta area in 1980 to attend college and never left. I received my nursing degree, worked for several years in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine, then became a full-time wife and mother. My husband and I met, married and raised three amazing children here and now have three beautiful grandchildren. We currently make our home in Lilburn, Georgia in Gwinnett County.
When my mother died In April, 2000, I was completely unprepared for the toll the loss would have on me, physically, emotionally and relationally. I did learn about grief and loss over the next several years, but felt there was more work to be done. Then in 2016, I developed a heart for grievers. I explored different programs available and began to lead grief recovery groups alongside my husband. While these groups were successful in helping grievers process their losses, I decided to pursue some additional training and found the GRM. I was amazed by its comprehensive, multi-faceted approach and its ability to transform the heart and mindset of each griever. I am so grateful for the way the Method has opened my eyes to the effects of my own losses, especially the recent death of my father, and am excited to help others explore and find peace in their relationships, regardless of their beliefs or life experiences. I am available for 1-on-1 grief support and look forward to hearing from you soon!
