My name is Anne and my journey with the Grief Recovery Method started in 2018. As someone who has always worked in a "helping" profession, I wanted to learn more about the program, and what better way to do that than to take the course. I was a mom to young children at the time and reflecting on the type of parent I wanted to be or not to be. I was also working through health and educational concerns with my youngest and felt very alone as a parent. I went through the program for my living mother which proved to be invaluable for myself. The course provided me a safe space to unleash the hopes, dreams and expectations that had not come to pass with my mom. Upon completion I had an overwhelming sense of relief and that a huge burden had been lifted from my shoulders.

Fast forward 5 years and my skills were put to the test when my dad died unexpectedly. The skills I took away from the GRM not only helped me with his death but also as I navigated a world without him. I did go through the GRM for his death and can tell you that it has helped me everyday since he died. The actions I took while navigating the class a second time helped me realize that not only was I mourning his death but also the moments where I “wish” I could have done something different, better or more. While it was a very different experience to do it for someone living versus dead, the work is the same and the emotional healing that comes with that hard work is life changing.

My passion populations include those in the bleeding disorder community as well as those living with learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, executive functioning and working memory.

I serve the greater Columbus, OH region and am certified to offer the Grief Recovery Method, Helping Children with Loss and the Pet Loss Support program. I can offer these in a group setting or 1:1, whichever is your preference and makes you the most comfortable. It would be a privilege to share the skills and knowledge I have developed as a specialist to help transform your life, one relationship at a time.
