Do the circumstances of life seem overwhelming?

Have you experienced and emotional loss that has your heart in pieces?

I grew up in a home with alcohol addiction and codependency.  We had a family secret and not only did we not talk about it in our family we certainly didn't talk about it outside of the family.  I learned at an early age to repress and not talk about my feelings and lost the trust and safety that a child needs to have in order to be emotionally healthy.  My parents weren't bad people but they could not teach or give me what they did not know or have themselves.

I ended up graduating from high school early and got married at age 16 and moved away to another state.  Being emotionally immature I was unable to give 100% to the marriage which ended in divorce.  I moved once again to another state and did everything that is supposed to make us a successful and productive person.  I graduated college, got a good job, bought a house and got remarried but on the inside I felt like something was wrong and I just didn't feel worthy or like I quite fit in.  I even had my own addiction problem prior to getting married again but instead of helping it  just made me feel worse.  I was determined to press on but always kept my mask firmly in place that all was "fine".

In 2013 right before Labor Day weekend I was out of town training for a new job I had accepted when I got a call that my husband had passed away.  I was devastated because we had been together 20 years and he was only 42 years old.  Six months later my best friend died of breast cancer and I lost another long time friend two months after that. I was overwhelmed because it seemed like everyone around me was dying. After a few years I finally let go and sold the house we had together and that move triggered an avalanche of grief.  Grief that I thought time had begun to take care of but it had not. I felt like I was totally broken.

I found Grief Recovery and began a true healing journey.  I realized that I was not broken but had a broken heart.     The Grief Recovery Method ® was so life changing I got certified and now help others find healing from their loss.  A broken heart has the ability to be healed.

The emotional pain of losing a loved one cannot be underestimated, nor can other losses such as divorce, estrangements, or loss of health. Even dealing with a family member’s declining health, changing careers, or moving can go unrecognized as loss triggering the mixed emotions of grief.

I help adults who have experienced a painful loss in their lives get un-stuck and feel better. In a safe, judgement-free environment, we’ll untangle the mass of emotions and begin to move forward.  Our structured and action based process allows for deep and meaningful grief recovery.

People talk about the need to let go and move on your life but they don’t tell how that is supposed to happen.  Join me on The Grief Recovery Method® journey that teaches how to recover from loss with supportive guidance every step of the way. Specific actions are taken to feel better than before and to no longer be paralyzed with inaction because you don’t know what to do, which is what keeps us stuck.  You will be equipped and empowered to use these tools forever.

If not now, when?  If not this, then what?  You are worth it!
