Ms. Joy is a joy to work with. She is very transparent and easy to speak with. I enjoyed how she gave us examples of the work we had to do because she has done it herself.

Once I wrote my completion letter and had Ms. Reid there to coach me through that process, I felt a great sense of relief. I can now walk away with her advice and remember how it helped me in that moment. After her coaching, I ripped up the letter and relationship graph with more confidence and conviction.

Honestly, i feel much better than ik did when i first started the program. It made me realize some of the things that we were taught about grief/ loss and how to handle it was wrong . I feel a lot less negative about feeling what i feel . I have come to realize for the most part that what feel is normal and that its actually best to feel them rather than conceal them for others .

I finally had the chance to sit down and truly understand how some things that we were taught as children is not the best way to handle our emotions or tell our love ones to deal with theirs.

I thought the Grief Recovery Program was excellent. At first I was a little apprehensive, because I did not want to re-hash any emotions that I had buried, but the Grief Recovery Program made me realize that these were emotions that I needed to address. The Loss History Graph was painful to discuss, but in the end, I was glad that I could discuss my loss with others, and not be judged. I thank my group members for that. Having to do the Relationship Graph, helped me to finally address what I wanted to say to my dad for years, and by the time I did my Completion Letter, I was ready to say goodbye without any leftover feelings or emotions. This group was a carthatic experience, and I would definitely recommend this program to others. Joy Reid was an awesome Facilitator, and she made this experience very comfortable, and enlightening.
