Hello! I am an Advanced Certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist® with training on grief and loss through the Grief Recovery Institute®.
I was introduced to the Grief Recovery Method® while in counseling following the death of our son Ryan on January 2, 2017. Ryan was our only child, and our world was turned upside down following his death. While grief counseling and being a member of support groups for parents who have lost a child certainly helped me with the early stages of my grief, I was still in need of something more. After going through the 1 on 1 Grief Recovery Method Program® with my counselor, I felt I had gained some very valuable “tools” to allow me to become more complete, not only with the grief associated with the loss of our son, but also with the grief I was still carrying from many of the losses I had experienced earlier in my life (ie-- pet loss, family loss, friend loss, etc..)
The Grief Recovery Method Program® really tugged at my heart—so much so, that I decided to attend the Grief Recovery Method Specialist Training in June 2018. Up until then, I had been a practicing Physical Therapist for 27 years; however, my head and my heart just were not “in it” any longer after our son passed away, and I made the difficult decision to resign from that career. After becoming an Advanced Certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist®, I have found a new, and meaningful, purpose in my life—to offer education about, and support for, grief and loss to as many people as I can.
I am from North Grosvenordale, CT.
**In addition to taking people through the Grief Recovery Method Program®, I also offer presentations and informational sessions about grief and loss to organizations, businesses, school systems, etc.....who are looking for additional resources and information to support their staff members and/or family and friends.
I look forward to speaking with you!
