Welcome! My name is Kassandra Settles, but most who know me, call me Kassie. I live, work and grew up in Zanesville, Ohio. After earning my Bachelor of Social Work and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ohio University Zanesville in 2020, I continued my education at Ohio University and earned my Master of Social Work degree in 2021. Since becoming a Licensed Social Worker in 2020, I have had the opportunity to support diverse populations including those living with HIV/AIDS and the LGBTQ+ community during my time at Equitas Health, as well as survivors of interpersonal violence, justice involved youth, and the aging population.
Through my current social work role at the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department, I am grateful to have had their support to become a Certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist in 2022. The skills and tools I learned as I was training to become a specialist, were monumental to my (grief) recovery after the death of my grandpa “Grumpy”, who died by suicide in 2006. Although I learned so much throughout my undergraduate and graduate education, it was the Grief Recovery Method that helped mend my broken heart. It is these tools and skills that I hope to share with all of you.
Aside from my work, I enjoy yoga and baking the tastiest vegan desserts in Zanesville, and cherish the moments I get to spend with my family, friends and pets. My "zoo" at home consists of three cats, Greyson, Suki and Kai; one dog, Korra and all of the fur you could possibly imagine.
I am currently providing the following in-person Grief Recovery Method programs:
• Grief Support Group
• One-on-one Grief Support
