In 1972 I was honorably discharged from the US Navy after serving four years. I started my career for the Ohio Dept. of Corrections as a Correction Officer at the Ohio Reformatory for Women. In 2001 I retired after 29 years as Warden of the Orient Correctional Institute. I worked as Director of the Volunteers of America Halfway House in Mansfield. I finished my working career as the Director of the Tri-County Regional Jail in Mechanicsburg Ohio. I have a B.A. Degree in Criminal Justice form Ohio Dominican College. I have participated in Kairos Prison Ministry for 20 years. I have experience in dealing with grief issues that incarcerated people experience. In addition I visit friends in Nursing homes and see the impact on the families. I am married and my wife and I became Grief Recovery Specialists in 2022.
