It is such a gift to support others in their grief journey, and to see the weight lift and hope renew through the course of working together. The Grief Recovery Method is a powerful program. It lifted the cloud of grief I had been under for years, even before my dear brother died of drug overdose in January 2012. For years I felt I was just barely holding the pieces of my life together. But once I began the Grief Recovery Method, each week of the program I could feel the cloud of my grief lifting. At the end of it, back pain and shoulder tension I’d had for years completely went away. I was so inspired by the new light and clarity that I sought out certification to help others with their grief as well, which I completed in November 2014. In 2015 I also completed my masters in Health Education from John F. Kennedy University.
Grief does not need be carried alone, and there is such power in giving voice to the layers of our grief. There is freedom and lightness in finding a way to carry grief forward while also honoring your loss, grief, and loved ones. You can hold grief and gratitude, grief and hope, grief and joy - they are not exclusive.
