As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I specialize in grief/loss, trauma, parenting issues, anxiety and life transitions. Blending my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies with my certifications in Yoga, Interactive Guided Imagery, Qi Gong, and meditation, I meld a variety of proven techniques to individualize your therapy based on your focused objectives. My goal is to empower children, individuals, and couples with the tools they need to face the challenges in their lives that arise authentically and self-sufficiently. My free time is spent with friends, watching movies or hiking in nature as well as exploring Bay Area neighborhoods.
As a Grief Recovery Method Specialist, I now support those who have experienced loss through this 8-week program. Grief is the result of unmet hopes, dreams and expectations as well as the loss of intangible concepts of safety, trust, security, respect, faith or hope. In 1996, when my Mother passed away, I suppressed my grief by raising my young daughters and caring for my Dad. Many months later, I felt as if I was moving through quicksand and did not have my footing. Little did I realize, this was grief–unsresolved grief displays in so many ways. The Grief Recovery Method brought me to ‘completion’ and now I treasure the memories without the physiological and psychological drain.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Combined Sciences and Math, Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, and certifications in Yoga Therapy, Interactive Guided Imagery, Qi Gong, Massage Therapy and Meditation, I bring broad professional expertise as a facilitator to her clients. I have practiced in both the medical and wellness fields, as a Practice Manager and as a Director at the YMCA of San Francisco. In my workshops and mentoring, I design individualized, goal-based programs to achieve practical and meaningful long-term results using a variety of proven practices.
