Welcome to the Grief Recovery Method. My name is Reem Azhari. I began my career as a nurse and spent the last decade in academia. I hold a PhD in business psychology with a focus on Organizational Development. I have taught leadership development and Healthcare Delivery and have had the pleasure of working with first responders, leaders in management, CEO's, staff and students.
In 2021, the unthinkable happened to me. As I anticipated my college son coming home that weekend, my husband and I were visited by our local police department. They arrived to inform us that our healthy 20-year-old son Adam had passed away in his sleep. After a few years of shock, leaning into faith, and attempted sense making, I began working with the Grief Recovery Method.
As a person who values science and data, I began researching this method. It is evidenced based through research at Kent State University in Ohio. Simply stated, evidenced based practice shows that practices are working through studies and numbers. This method is simple and does not delve into any psychotherapy, but rather, allows the participant to map out or chart their losses and focus on relationships and unpacking grief throughout their lives. The process is completed over 7 weeks in one on one format with only an hour participation during the week with a few “homework” assignments. Our group formats consist of 2 hour sessions once a week. I found these formats incredibly helpful to me.
If you would like to know more about this process, I am happy to help you discover how you can benefit from it.

What participants have said:
My experience with The Grief Recovery Method was profound and something I will never forget. Dr. Reem Azhari was my facilitator and was a perfect match for what I needed. She instantly forged a sincere and authentic connection with me, which set the stage for this process and helped carry me through. As someone who does not always communicate well, I was uncertain how I would tell my story. It was quickly apparent that Dr. Azhari was able to understand me implicitly and empathize with my struggles like no other has done before. Her grasp of the Grief Recovery Method, its Evidence Based foundations, and the way she was able to expound on its principles drew me in and further validated the importance and legitimacy of this experience for me. I am forever grateful for Dr. Reem Azhari and would absolutely recommend her to anyone.
