Welcome. My name is Holly Strelzik and I live in Summit, New Jersey. My personal grief journey, training and professional experiences have uniquely prepared me to serve those facing a wide variety of loss and grief in their lives. At the age of 15, my parents divorced and my mother moved away, leaving me to care for my siblings. I experienced two close friends’ deaths, while they were only in their teens, and I then moved away.
Through a series of traumatic events (flashbacks of sexual abuse, a near-death experience because of an aneurysm and the dismantling of my family), the grief became debilitating. I began to explore the art of dying. Upon completing various trainings, grief emerged as the most present factor in all of my work with clients (grief for family members, first diagnoses, non-tangible grief, etc.).
In addition, my husband of over 40 years was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, a disease that has touched several people close to me. Though I was no stranger to loss, I became keenly aware of how ill-equipped most people were to work through their resulting grief.
The enormous changes and the intense grief in these last few years and as I continue to walk together with my husband in his illness led me to the Grief Recovery Method. After several life-changing trainings and personal experiences, I am now a certified Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist, qualified to work one-on-one and in groups, online and in-person, with adults and caregivers of children coping with loss. I have personally achieved completion via the Grief Recovery Method and continue to apply it by working through other relationships in my life. This method has changed my life tremendously.
