I’m Helen Lorraine Wray and I live in Akron, Ohio. I experienced the sudden death of my younger brother, the closest of my siblings, at 7 years of age. Not knowing how to process the loss, I silently suffered for years. After the death of my father in 1999, I was introduced to the Grief Recovery Method, and it changed my life! I could identify how my emotions had affected my mental well-being and realize I had choices for processing them in healthy ways that served me. Since then, I’ve experienced the deaths of my husband and my mother. I used the tools I learned in Grief Recovery to heal and move forward.

The Grief Recovery Method is a powerful process that can benefit anyone willing to go through it. When I had the opportunity to become a certified GRM specialist, I immediately pursued it. Loss impacts us all in so many ways. Whether you’ve experienced death of a loved one or a pet, end of a relationship, loss of a job, disappointment or regret, the Grief Recovery Method can help you find hope, discover joy, gain strength to move forward and recognize new opportunities to show your purpose. Although the coronavirus pandemic has brought substantial loss to millions of individuals, GRM gives us the opportunity to offer healing transformation to broken hearts. I am also an ordained minister.

I provide Grief Recovery programs in both group and 1-on-1 settings. I also offer a four-session program entitled, “Helping Children With Loss,” using the book, “When Children Grieve.” This is a program for adults who care for children, such as parents, grandparents, daycare workers, and coaches. This book was written by the GRM founders, John W. James and Russell Friedman.
