The vast majority of parents find themselves at a loss when trying to help their children deal with any grieving experience that impacts them. This 4-week program is designed to teach parents, and others who work with children, the necessary tools to help children effectively deal with their broken hearts, no matter the loss they are facing.
About The Format
This program is taught in four 2.5 hour long sessions offered once a week. There is reading and assignments in between sessions. HCWL Groups are not drop in style groups. All GRM programs are structured and action oriented.
A Note From The Presenter:
There are many opinions regarding difficult situations or dealing with sad emotions that confuse young people. In this program you will learn how to replace these ideas with practical guidance for the young people you support and who are under your care.
This very practical course includes:
❖ understanding loss, grief and change
❖ discovering why young people struggle
❖ the correlation between loss/grief and socialization , academic performance, and disruptive behaviors
❖ how to support children when they repeat the same stories or stay “stuck”
❖ types of unhelpful communication (or lack of) and how it influences behavior
❖ a step-by-step plan to help children belong instead of “fitting in”
There is one introductory/information session and four main sessions. If you are unable to make this, we can discuss it during your pre-course zoom meeting. The four main sessions build on the prior session.
