Testimonials For Tammy Fleming
Her vulnerability is what stood out to me. Obviously someone is certified, has been through trainings, has experience leading groups, but her vulnerability in sharing her journeys through grief and the Grief Recovery Method was unexpected. It made me think "she gets it, she's been there". It also helped with explaining the homework assignments and reassured me to "trust the process".

Very encouraging in all the steps! Repeated many times that we don't need to have expectations of if we feel something during the exercises or not, which made me feel safe and not judging myself. Engaged in all of us. Positive and safe atmosphere!

Before starting, I was worried about the language barrier, but Tammy provided me with complete support and confidence that I could use my own words to do the homework in this program. It truly worked! Tammy is incredibly understanding, professional, and selfless, regardless of her location, fatigue, or the challenging situations she encounters. She made you feel acceptable, comfortable without pressure, and respected.

It has helped me address issues I had about dealing with death of a loved one. Its helped me address and confront misinformation that I had been socialized to accept. Its helped me to alleviate a lot of difficult baggage from my past.

Tammy was quick to respond to any query, offering a listening ear and time to think about my needs. Her personal sharing and examples were precise and used to help us forward rather than to draw the attention to ourselves.

Identifying sterbs was so helpful. The facilitator constantly offered examples in their own life to help widen my understanding of how sterbs serve to numb emotional connection and processing of loss. The facilitator's vulnerability and modelling of the process, taking us on their journey through a loss, was not only practical but just incredibly connecting. The method of constantly affirming the guidelines (confidentiality, no judgement, be truthful, be honest, be a heart with ears) created a place of safety and freedom. The facilitator had command of the 'room' without being authoritative. You felt encouraged and believed in and trusted. They checked in on our progress and homework without it feeling heavy and without judgement.

I have struggled to deal with the grief of a broken marriage that also involved trauma. The programme helped me to think through my own background with grief and loss, what the losses were in this particular situation, to structure and express my feelings and in particular to express forgiveness, appreciation and apologies and, I believe, to "draw a line" under the situation to a large extent (I still see the relevant person within our community, but think that it will now be a lot easier to handle things). Thank you very much.

The program has been wonderful. It gave me a safe place to be completely honest about my pain and grief im going through due to my husband changing due to Motor Neurone disease. The program has helped me to accept and release grief as a natural part of life. I now have new tools to help me and my adult children. I’m so grateful . Thank you

I have been able to review my past relationships which had pain with a much deeper perspective. The program taught me the benefits of honesty and truthfulness in approaching any relationship especially where loss is involved. Knowing the recovery elements has been an eye opener on my way to recovery and healing from past and present losses. Tremendous method.

I chose to explore the relationship with my father and I absolutely loved doing it, it allowed me to say things I would've never said to him in reality, good and bad. But I believe that this will prove the quality of our relationship going forward

I found understanding my sterns put a whole new insight into my current behaviour. It was remarkably uplifting to be brutally honest, to take a indepth look nto my relationships, focusing on my feelings and particularly been able to forgive. I found forgiveness empowering as my choice and freeing.

Brought understanding and peace in a turbulent time. Allowed me to face into pain quickly and minimise the period or dark thoughts and protect my faith as well as allowed me to prevent avoidance (which I typically do)
