With a heart and passion for the hurting and grieving, Dr. Murphy became a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist (CGRS) through the Grief Recovery Institute. On September 12, he finished the advanced, 1-on-1 online training in the Grief recovery Method. His journey in grief recovery began after losing his father and then seven months later, losing his grandfather. The Grief Recovery Method changed his life and his perspective of what grieving is all about. GRM is now something he is passionate about and he desires to help as many people as he can to complete their grief.
As a person who enjoys serving others, he volunteers as clergy in the Emergency Department of Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson, Michigan. He has a degree in music as well as a Master's and Doctorate in Church Ministry, and is a fully licensed minister in an international church denomination.

This program is for people who prefer to work one-on-one rather than in a group setting. The 7-session format utilizes the same proven materials as the group programs and can be completed in-person with a Grief Recovery Method Specialist specifically trained to help people move through loss with dignity and respect.
