Grief and loss are a natural occurrence in our human existence. But what happens to people when they experience grief and loss as an ongoing experience in their daily lives across generations? And what can be done to address such deep and prolonged loss? These are the two questions that have driven me to say yes to the invitation to be trained as a Grief Recovery Method Specialist. Over two decades of program work and community interventions to address the high incidence of infant mortality in the African American communities of Greater Cleveland spurred the asking of the questions. I believe the Grief Recovery Method will be a practical tool to assist families process through their grief and loss to attain some level of liberation. I personally continue to utilize the Grief Recovery Method in my life. I am a recent widow and my husband and I are adoptive parents of two young adults. I have a Master of Divinity Degree, Bachelor of Psychology and I am a Trauma and Resilience Life Coach.
