Tracy had the honor of being trained as a Grief Recovery Specialist in 2003 by John James. After completing a graduate degree in Human Development, with a specialty in Child Life and Family Centered Care and then post graduate work in Clinical Counseling and Education she had not had one class, never mind one course, on grief. She had been working with children with life threatening illnesses and walked with many families who had experienced the loss of a child or sibling. The stages of death left her with no tools to offer grieving loved ones and only left her searching. The beauty is that she discovered the Grief Recovery Method (GRM) while reading a book about horses.
Although serving others is what led her to search for the GRM, she is no stranger to loss. She was so grateful for the method as she grieved the loss of her daughter when she was given the choice to disrupt her adoption, the loss of a faith community, betrayal and divorce.
Currently she provides the GRM tp groups in the Greater Auburn, Maine area. Beginning in June 2021she will be offering 1:1 online all over the globe.
Tracy holds a Masters of Science and began her career as an LCPC. She served in the community mental health world in Maine and Massachusetts for 15 years in leadership. Her work includes children in foster care and adoption, building an amazing program for youth in detention, and her small private practice. Her love of empowering leaders and the work in her small private practice propelled her forward to transition to whole person coaching. She holds multiple certifications in relationship, business and leadership coaching and credentialed as a BCC and soon to be PCC. Tracy believes that how you show up professionally is to the degree you are thriving personally- incomplete relationships and unidentified feelings keep leaders from showing up in their highest potential.
