Pat worked in Corporate America 35 years before retiring in 2004 and joining the staff at The House of the Lord (THOTL). Her retirement opened the door for opportunities for her to serve as Elder, Staff Pastor, Pastor of Administrative Services and Executive assistant to Bishop F.J. Johnson II. Pat has been under the tutelage of Bishop Johnson since joining the church in 1983.
In 2004 she became a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist through The Grief Recovery Institute® headquartered in Bend, OR. Pat provides One-on-One Grief Support and facilitates Grief Recovery Support Groups locally and nationally when called upon to serve.
Pastor Pat’s distinctive “gift of administration” is evident when special services (i.e., ministerial ordinations, church anniversaries, graduation services, leadership conferences, etc.) are held at THOTL. Her attention to detail, etiquette and protocol are admirable and noteworthy indeed. Her involvement in preparing and planning for these services is requested and depended upon. The Body of Christ at THOTL and beyond have been blessed through her “gift of administration”.
The Call of God’s faithful servant, “Pastor Pat Butler” is to proclaim good news to the poor, bind up the “brokenhearted” and to help set the “captives” of unresolved grief and unacknowledged loss…free.

This program is for people who prefer to work one-on-one rather than in a group setting. The 7-session format utilizes the same proven materials as the group programs and can be completed in-person with a Grief Recovery Method Specialist specifically trained to help people move through loss with dignity and respect.
