Welcome, I'm Karen a Grief Recovery Method Specialist,
I have a Master's degree in Psychology and specialized areas of interest in early childhood trauma, loss and grief. I also have a heart for our military service men and women returning from recent wars and years of deployment. After experiencing my own personal loss of my parents three years in a row and the affects it had on myself and my family as we were all attempting to navigate through our grief, quite unsuccessfully I might add. It was apparent we were in a grief crisis. It was my son who discovered the Grief Recovery Method in his counseling sessions. The therapist had been using the Grief Recovery Method and was a specialist herself.
With a passion for education and striving to be an educator I decided to look into becoming a full time Grief Recovery Method Specialist. I discovered it is an educational program, which I love that aspect about the method. Once you are provided with the tools and the knowledge of the program you will be well equipped and know what to do in life for any and all situations around grief and loss. I look forward to working with you to help you discover what those losses are that are holding you back from living a full and happy life.
My goal is to help you heal from the grief that you are feeling and put it into words and expression, we can do that in a small group setting or one on one, whichever you are most comfortable. I prefer working with small groups as it helps us realize we are not alone and helps us to forge bonds and connection with others. As grievers we are often isolators, but we don't have to be, and we can break through the isolation and loneliness.
Please contact me via phone, text or email with any questions you may have. I currently serve the Woodlands, Magnolia, Conroe and Spring-Klein, areas of Texas.
