Background: How did I get involved in GRM? Loss of both parents within seven months was difficult. Meeting Lois Hall, a seasoned GRM trainer and teacher, opened the door to grief recovery and later becoming a Specialist. I was trained in an Ohio prison with inmates the winter of 2017. There I witnessed firsthand the progress made by men with much to grieve. I have had a lifelong passion for serving especially in public health. I retired from The Ohio State University in 2013 as a medical entomologist specializing in ticks. The Air Force hired me as a contractor in 2014 for a yearlong tick study. I have been involved in Kairos Prison Ministry for more than 10 years. I live north of Sunbury and offer GRM at my local United Methodist Church. The program is not faith based but faith working in tandem with a GRM program is effective.
