Hello! My name is Ange Pearson. I am from Aberdeen, SD. I entered the Grief Recovery Method after our community reached out to the agency I work for as a need following a number of suicides. At age 11, I lost my paternal grandmother which was my first real encounter with grief. I had watched her suffer from strokes for 8 years so the saying "they are in a better place" made sense at that time. As life went on, I have since lost all of my grandparents, an aunt who I was very close to but most importantly my father. This program helped me understand the infrastructure of those relationships.
I am a Licensed Addictions Counselor in my community, I am also certified in Moral Reconation Therapy, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Substance Abuse. I spend a large amount of my time working with those in our community with substance use as well as their family; they have lost many relationships. This program can help them with ending the unhealthy relationship and beginning the new healthy relationship.
