I got interested in Grief Recovery Method (GRM) because I was seeking to expand my skills and knowledge as a psychologist on ways to support children, teens, and adults when bad things happen in their lives. The training to become a specialist was different from any training I had ever done. One of the main GRM principles is that you cannot ask people to do what you have not already done before. In line with this principle, we as specialists-in-training were asked as part of the training to complete what is unfinished in the biggest loss in our lives. Other training courses usually recommend using a small loss, but GRI was confident in the effectiveness of GRM that they routinely train groups of 12 or more people as each of these participants address their biggest losses at the same time. Quite frankly, I was skeptical at the beginning but became a true believer at the end of the 4-day program as a great change came over me by truly facing and recovering from a very abusive relationship in my life.
I am committed to sharing and guiding fellow grievers in acquiring skills and knowledge to discover and complete what is unfinished in the loss they choose to address. We are all grievers. I invite you to join me on this journey where you will acquire these valuable abilities in recovering from the losses you have experienced over the years.
