Suicide and Grief

Suicide grief hope loss abuse trauma break ups recovery help

Robin Williams once said “Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.” Sounds logical, doesn’t it?

The problem is that suicide isn’t a logical choice, it’s an emotional one.

To the person who is considering it, suicide often seems like a permanent solution to an insurmountable, hopeless, and never ending problem.

Suicide is often related to the emotional pain caused by loss, abuse, breakups, trauma, addiction or any other number of heartbreaking events. It's not just about the most recent loss, but also about every other pain you've ever felt. One loss can trigger pain from other losses that you haven’t yet healed from. It can feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders. Each loss adds to the pressure, and when it finally overflows, you find yourself confronted with an overwhelming amount of painful memories.

If you have been looking for a sign about what to do next to work on your your pain, this may be the sign you are looking for. It’s never too soon, or too late, to do something for your emotional health. The Grief Recovery Method can help.
